DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 369 begins at Iowa 2 approximately five miles south of the City of Unionville, and travels northerly into the City of Unionville.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑369‑0 (3) between Appanoose County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred that portion of Iowa 369 from Iowa 2 approximately 264 feet south of the NW Corner Section 34‑T69N‑R16W northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Unionville to county jurisdiction on August 21, 1980. The portion of Iowa 369 in the City of Unionville should be re-designated unsigned Iowa 938.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 369 in Appanoose County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 369 and its extension in Appanoose County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 264 feet south of the NW Corner Section 34‑T69N‑R16W (junction US 2); thence northerly following substantially the section line through Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10, and 3‑T69N‑R16W to the south corporation line of the City of Unionville connecting with an unnamed street.

Unionville:

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly along said unnamed street approximately 0.46 mile connecting with in unnamed street.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 369 in Appanoose County should be deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 369 begins at the junction of Iowa 2 approximately 8 ½ miles east of Centerville, Iowa and travels northerly terminating at Unionville, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 369 and its extension in Appanoose County as follows;

Beginning at a point approximately 264 feet south of the NW Corner Section 34‑T69N‑R16W (junction US 2); thence northerly following substantially the section line through Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10, and 3‑T69N‑R16W to the south corporation line of the City of Unionville connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly along said unnamed street approximately 0.46 mile connecting with an unnamed street.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 369 in Appanoose County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
