DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to construction of Iowa 58 in Cedar Falls in 1995 the official description in the primary Road System should be revised to reflect the change of Iowa 58.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the old description of Iowa 58 in Black Hawk County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be included in the Primary Road System.

Beginning at a point near the W ¼ Corner Section 35-T88N-Rl4W (junction US 63); thence north following substantially the section line to the south corporation line of Hudson connecting with an unnamed street.

Hudson:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south corporation line; thence north, northwesterly and north on said unnamed street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Hudson connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the quarter section line through Sections 10 and 3-T88N-Rl4W to a point on the south corporation line of the City of Cedar Falls, connecting with Hudson Road.

Cedar Falls:

Due to construction on Iowa 58 in 1987, a small section of Iowa 58 was relocated in 1988. At the same time the old section of Iowa 58 became Iowa 933.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑58‑1 (13)‑‑2M‑07 between the Iowa Department of Transportation and the City of Cedar Falls transferred that portion of Iowa 58 from the north ramps of relocated US 20 north and east to a junction with US 218 at Main Street to City jurisdiction on July 1, 1987. The official description of Iowa 58 in Black Hawk County should be revised to reflect this transfer.

Iowa 58 begins at a junction with US 63 approximately 2000 feet south of Hudson and travels northerly via Hudson to the north ramps of relocated US 20 in Cedar Falls.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve revising the description of Iowa 58 in Black Hawk County and including the new description in the Primary Road System.

Commencing again on an unnamed street at the south corporation line at a point approximately 965 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 27-T88N-R14W; thence northerly on said unnamed street to the north corporation line at a point approximately 663 feet south of the center of Section 22-T88N-R14W.
