DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

New Description - Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) and its extensions in Cerro Gordo County described as follows:

Beginning at the Cerro Gordo-Floyd County line at a point near the E ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 24-T96N-R19W, Cerro Gordo County (W ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 19-T96N-R18W, Floyd County); thence northwesterly through Section 24 and 23-T96N-R19W to a point near the S ¼ Corner NE ¼ Section 23-T96N-R19W; thence westerly following substantially the center section line of Sections 23, 22, and 21-T96N-R19W to near the Center Section 21-T96N-R19W; thence southwesterly through Section 20-T96N-R19W to a point near the south section line of Section 19-T96N-R19W; thence westerly following substantially the south section line of Sections 19-T96N-R19W and 24-T96N-R20W to a point near the SW Corner Section 24-T96N-R20W; thence southwesterly through Sections 26 and 27-T96N-R20W to near the E ¼ Corner Section 28-T96N-R20W; thence westerly following substantially the center section line of Sections 28, 29, and 30-T96N-R20W and 25, 26, and 27-T96N-R21W; thence southwesterly through Section 28 and 29-T96N-R21W to the south junction Interstate 35 (approximately 1100 feet north and 1660 feet west of SW Corner Section 28-T96N-R21W); thence northwesterly through Section 29-T96N-R21W on Interstate 35 to the south corporation line of Clear Lake (approximately 260 feet west of the N ¼ Corner Section 29-T96N-R21W).

Clear Lake:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with Interstate 35 (approximately 260 feet west of the N ¼ Corner Section 29-T96N-R21W); thence northwesterly and northerly on Interstate 35 to the junction of Iowa 122 and US 18; thence northerly on Interstate 35 to the north corporation line of Clear Lake (near the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 8-T96N-R21W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Clear Lake, connecting with Interstate 35 (near the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 8-T96N-R21W); thence northerly and northeasterly through Sections 5-T96N-R21W and 32 and 29-T97N-R21W to near the N ¼ Corner Section 29-T97N-R21W; thence northerly following substantially the center section line of Sections 20, 17, 8, and 5-T97N-R21W to the Cerro Gordo-Worth County line near the N ¼ Corner Section 5-T97N-R21W, Cerro Gordo County (S ¼ Corner Section 32-T98N-R21W, Worth County).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) in Cerro Gordo County to the Primary Road System.
