DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 97-P-086A, between the City of New Hampton and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 478 from the north junction of Iowa 24 at a point near the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W, connecting with Linn Avenue; thence north on Linn Avenue to the north corporation line (approximately 1310 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W) and beginning again on the north corporation line of New Hampton, connecting with Linn Avenue (approximately 1310 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W); thence north to junction of McCloud (secondary road) (approximately 2640 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W) to city jurisdiction on November 1, 2003.

New Description - Unsigned Iowa 478 and its extensions in Chickasaw County described as follows:

New Hampton:

Beginning at the north junction of Iowa 24 at a point near the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W, connecting with Linn Avenue; thence north on Linn Avenue to the north corporation line (approximately 1310 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of New Hampton, connecting with Linn Avenue (approximately 1310 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W); thence north to junction of McCloud (secondary road) (approximately 2640 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6-T95N-R12W).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 478 in Chickasaw County to the Primary Road System.
