DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 292 begins in the City of Linden and proceeds north to a junction with Iowa 44 approximately two and three‑quarters miles north of the City of Linden.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑292‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑25, between the City of Linden and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 292 from Guthrie Street north to the north corporation line of the City of Linden to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑292‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑ 25, between Dallas County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 292 from the north corporation line of the City of Linden north to a junction with Iowa 44 near the N ¼ Corner Section 6­-T79N‑R29W to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 292 in Dallas County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 292 and its extension in Dallas County as follows:

 

Linden:

 

Beginning at the intersection of Guthrie Street and Main Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Linden connecting with unnamed street; thence north following substantially the center section line through Sections 18, 7 and 6‑T79N‑R29W at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 6‑T79N‑R29W at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 6-T79N-­R79W (junction of Iowa 44).

Due to the review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 292 in Dallas County should be deleted from the Primary System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 292 begins in Linden, Iowa and travels in a northerly direction terminating at the junction of Iowa 44 approximately 2 ¾ miles north of Linden, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 292 and its extension in Dallas County as follows:

 

Linden:

 

Beginning at the intersection of Guthrie Street and Main Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Linden connecting with unnamed street; thence north following substantially the center section line through Sections 18, 7 and 6-T79N-­R29W at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 6‑T79N‑R79W (junction of Iowa 44).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 292 in Dallas County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
