DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to an annexation by the City of Adel effective April 23, 2018, it is recommended that the primary route description for US 169 in Dallas County be revised.

New Description ‑ US 169 and its extensions in Dallas County described as follows:

Beginning on the Dallas‑Madison County line near the SW Corner Section 31‑T78N‑R27W, Dallas County (NW Corner Section 6‑T77N‑R27W, Madison County); thence north following substantially the section line of Section 31 and 30‑T78N‑R27W to the south corporation line of De Soto connecting with Guthrie Street.

De Soto:

Beginning on Guthrie Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Guthrie Street to the north corporation line.

Adel:

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with Nile Kinnick Drive South; thence northerly on Nile Kinnick Drive South to the north corporation line at the intersection of 302^nd Place.

Beginning again at the north corporation line of Adel connecting with Nile Kinnick Drive South; thence northerly to the south corporation line of Adel connecting with Nile Kinnick Drive South (approximately 70 feet west of the NW Corner of Section 6-T78N-R27W).

Adel:

Beginning on Nile Kinnick Drive South at the south corporation line; thence northwest and north on Nile Kinnick Drive South connecting with Nile Kinnick Drive North to the north corporation line.

NOTE: The old location of US 169 beginning approximately 550 feet south of the south line of Section 20‑T79N‑R27W measured along the centerline of old US 169; thence northwesterly 2,650 feet to the south bank of the Raccoon River, including the connection between the old and new US 169, will revert to the Dallas County Secondary Road System, in accord with Section 313.2 Code of Iowa.
