Due to new construction in the Bloomfield area, the old description of US 63 in Davis County should be deleted and the new description should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

US 63 begins at the Iowa‑Missouri State line, approximately 6 miles east of the SW Corner of Davis County, and travels in a generally north­easterly direction via Bloomfield to the Davis‑Wapello County line, approxi­mately 10 miles north of Bloomfield, Iowa.

 

AGREEMENTS: In accordance with an agreement between Davis County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved by Department of Transportation Commission Order H‑77‑245 on November 18, 1976, the following described section of old US 63 will revert to the Davis County Secondary Road System effective October 11, 1977:

 

Old Iowa 2 and US 63 from Station 1562+00, near the north line of Section 35‑T69N‑R14W, northeasterly to the west corporation line of Bloomfield, a distance of approximately 0.9 mile.

 

In accordance with agreement 77U‑111 between the City of Bloomfield and the Iowa Department of Transportation, the following described section of old US 63 will revert to the City of Bloomfield street system effective September 22, 1977:

 

Old US 63 from the west corporation line Bloomfield north and easterly to the intersection of Jefferson Street and Washington Street.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of US 63 in Davis County be deleted and the new description be included in the Primary Road System.
