Senate File 451 transferred Iowa 294 in its entirety, in Decatur County, to city and county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to the review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 294 in Decatur County should be deleted from the Primary System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 294 begins at the junction of Iowa 2 approximately 6 ½ miles west of Decatur City, Iowa and travels northerly terminating on the east corporation line of Grand River, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 294 in Decatur County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately ¼ mile north of the SW Corner Section 34‑T69N‑R27W (junction Iowa 2); thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10, and 3‑T69N‑R27W and Section 34‑T70N‑R27W to a point near the W ¼ Corner Section 34‑T70N‑R27W on the east corporation line of the City of Grand River connecting with an unnamed street.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 294 in Decatur County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
