DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 944 begins at a junction with Iowa 13 approximately one mile southwest of the City of Manchester and proceeds east and north to the City of Manchester.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑944‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑28, between Delaware County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred Unsigned Iowa 944 from a junction with Iowa 13 near the NW Corner Section 6-T88N‑R5W easterly and northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Manchester approximately 250 feet north of the Grant Street extension to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Unsigned Iowa 944 in Delaware County from the primary road system.

Remove Unsigned Iowa 944 in Delaware County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R5W (junction Iowa 13); thence easterly following substantially the section line said Section 6 to the south corporation line of the City of Manchester connecting with an unnamed street.

Manchester:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a generally northeasterly direction to a point approximately 250 feet north of the Grant Street Extension.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Unsigned Iowa 944 in Delaware County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Unsigned Iowa 944 begins at Iowa 13 just southwest of Manchester, and travels easterly and northeasterly to a point in Manchester, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Unsigned Iowa 944 in Delaware County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R5W (junction Iowa 13); thence easterly following substantially the section line said Section 6 to the south corporation line of the City of Manchester connecting with an unnamed street.

Manchester:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a generally northeasterly direction to a point approximately 250 feet north of the Grant Street Extension.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the description of Unsigned Iowa 944 in Delaware County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
