DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Unsigned Iowa 947 begins on the Delaware-Buchanan County line near the City of Masonville and proceeds easterly to Iowa 13 at the City of Manchester, beginning again in the City of Manchester and proceeds easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Earlville, beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Earlville and proceeds easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Dyersville.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (11) ‑‑2M‑28, between Delaware County and the Iowa Department of Transportation and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (10) ‑‑2M‑10, between Buchanan County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 947 from near the SW Corner Section 31‑T89N‑R6W easterly along the Delaware‑Buchanan County line to near the NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R6W to local jurisdiction on January 12, 1981.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (11) ‑‑2M‑28, between Delaware County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 947 from near the NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R6W easterly to Iowa 13 near the N ¼ Corner Section 31‑T89N‑R5W and from the east corporation line of the City of Manchester approx­imately 700 feet west of the NE Corner Section 33‑T89N‑R5W easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Earlville, and from the east corporation line of the City of Earlville easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Dyersville to county jurisdiction on January 12, 1981.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (12) ‑‑2M‑28, between the City of Manchester and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 947 from approximately 686 feet east of the Stiles Street easterly to the east corporation line approximately 1200 feet west of the NE Corner Section 33-­T89N‑R5W to city jurisdiction on October 13, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (12) ‑‑2M‑28, between the City of Manchester and the Iowa Department of Transportation, and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑947‑0 (11) -‑2M‑28, between Delaware county and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 947 from the east corporation line of the City of Manchester approximately 1200 feet west of the NE Corner Section 33‑T89N‑R5W easterly along the south corporation line of the City of Manchester to the east corporation line of the City of Manchester approximately 700 feet west of the NE Corner Section 33‑T89N‑R5W to local jurisdiction on January 12, 1981.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Unsigned Iowa 947 in Delaware County from the primary road system.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Manchester connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 34, 35 and 36-T89N‑R5W; and Sections 31, 32, (junction Iowa 38) 33, 34 and 35‑T89N‑R4W to the west corpora­tion line of the City of Earlville at an unnamed street.

Unsigned Iowa 947 begins on the Delaware-Buchanan County line approximately one mile southwest of Manchester and travels generally easterly, via Manchester to the west corporation line of Dyersville, with breaks for part of Manchester and all of Earlville.

 

Due to a review of our primary road system records, Unsigned Iowa 947 in Delaware County should be deleted from the primary road system and the new description added should be officially included into the primary road system.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 947 in Delaware County be deleted and the new description, as referred to in the attached detail description, be included in the primary road system.
