DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to the relocation of a portion of Iowa 150 in Fayette County, the official description of this route should be revised to reflect the new alignment.

 

The portion of Iowa 150, which was relocated, extends from the Fayette­-Buchanan County line northward into the City of Oelwein where it rejoins the existing route of Iowa 150 at Frederick Avenue. The remainder of the route remains unchanged.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended to approve revising the description of Iowa 150 and its extensions in Fayette County and to include the attached new description in the primary road system.

 

New Description ‑ Iowa 150 and its extensions in Fayette County described as follows:

 

Beginning on the Fayette‑Buchanan County Line at a point near the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 33‑T91N‑R9W, Fayette County (N ¼ Corner NE ¼ Section 4‑T90N‑R9W, Buchanan County); thence northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Oelwein connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Oelwein:

 

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly and northwesterly connecting with Frederick Avenue; thence north on Frederick Avenue to the north corporation line.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 150 in Fayette County, Iowa should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

Iowa 150 begins on the Fayette‑Buchanan County line approximately 1¼ miles south of Oelwein and travels in a northerly direction via the Cities of Oelwein, Maynard, Fayette, and West Union to the Fayette‑Winneshiek County line approximately 7 ½ miles north of West Union, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:
