West Union:

Beginning on Franklin Street at Cemetery Street; thence easterly and southeasterly on Franklin Street to the south corporation line.

Beginning on the south corporation line of West Union connecting with Franklin Street; thence south following substantially the section line of Section 21‑T94N‑R8W to a point approximately 1,570 feet north of the SW Corner Section 21‑T94N‑R8W; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 21, 28, 27, 26, 35, and 36‑T94N‑R8W; Section 1‑T93N‑R8W; and Sections 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1-T93N‑R7W to the Fayette‑Clayton County line at a point approximately 900 feet north of the SE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R7W, Fayette County (SW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R6W, Clayton County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 56 in Fayette County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 56 in Fayette County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 56 and its extension in Fayette County as follows:

West Union:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Cemetery Street; thence easterly and southeasterly to the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the south corporation line of the City of West Union connecting with an unnamed street; thence south following substantially the section line Section 21‑T94N‑R8W to a point approximately 1,570 feet north of the SW Corner Section 21‑T94N‑R8W; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 21, 28, 27, 26, 35, and 36‑T94N‑R8W; Section 1-T93N‑R8W; and Sections 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1‑T93N‑R7W to the Fayette‑Clayton County line at a point approximately 900 feet north of the SE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R7W, Fayette County (SW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R6W, Clayton County).
