DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 1999-TJ-011, between Floyd County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 122 from the east corporation line of Nora Springs, connecting with Congress Street; thence in an easterly and southeasterly direction through the south part of Sections 8 and 9-T96N-R18W to a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 9-T96N-R18W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 16, 15, and 14-T96N-R18W to a point near the NE Corner Section 14-T96N-R18W; thence curving southeasterly through the N ½ of Section 13-T96N-R18W to the north corporation line of the City of Rudd, connecting with an unnamed street to county jurisdiction on November 10, 2001.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 1999-TJ-012, between the City of Rudd and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 122 from the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence southeasterly on said unnamed street to the east corporation line to city jurisdiction on November 12, 2001.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 1999-TJ-011, between Floyd County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 122 from the east corporation line of the City of Rudd, connecting with an unnamed street then southeasterly and curving easterly through the south part of Sections 18 and 17-T96N-R17W to a point approximately 475 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 20-T96N-R17W; thence easterly, northeasterly approximately 2800 feet in Section 17-T96N-R17W; thence southerly approximately 200 feet to the section line of Section 20-T96N-R17W (approximately 2000 feet west of the NW Corner of Section 21-T96N-R17W) to county jurisdiction on November 10, 2001.

New Description - Iowa 122 and its extensions in Floyd County described as follows:

Nora Springs:

Beginning on Congress Street at the west corporation line (Floyd-Cerro Gordo County line); thence easterly on Congress Street to the east corporation line (approximately 700 feet north of the S ¼ Corner of Section 8-T96N-R18W).

Proposal/Action Recommendation:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 122 and its extensions in Floyd County be deleted and the new description be included in the Primary Road System.

New Description - Iowa 122 and its extensions in Floyd County described as follows:

Nora Springs:

Beginning on Congress Street at the west corporation line (Floyd-Cerro Gordo County line); thence easterly on Congress Street to the east corporation line.

Beginning at the east corporation line of Nora Springs, connecting with Congress Street; thence in an easterly and southeasterly direction through the south part of Sections 8 and 9-T96N-R18W to a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 9-T96N-R18W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 16, 15, and 14-T96N-R18W to a point near the NE Corner of Section 14-T96N-R18W; thence curving southeasterly through the N ½ of Section 13-T96N-R18W to the north corporation line of Rudd connecting with an unnamed street.

Rudd:

Beginning at the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence southeasterly on said unnamed street to the east corporation line

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Rudd, connecting with an unnamed street then southeasterly and curving easterly through the south part of Sections 18 and 17-T96N-R17W to a point approximately 475 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 20-T96N-R17W; thence easterly, northeasterly approximately 2800 feet in Section 17-T96N-R17W; thence southerly approximately 200 feet to the section line of 20-T96N-R17W (approximately 2000 feet west of NW Corner of Section 21-T96N-R17W).

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Iowa 122 in Floyd County to the Primary Road System.
