DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

New Description - Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) and its extensions in Floyd County described as follows:

Beginning at the Floyd-Chickasaw County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 13-T94N-R15W, Floyd County (NW Corner Section 18-T94N-R14W, Chickasaw County); thence in a northwesterly direction through Sections 12, 11, 2, and 3-T94N-R15W to a point approximately 1000 feet west of the SE Corner Section 34-T95N-R15W; thence continuing northwesterly through Sections 34, 33, 28, and 29-T95N-R15W to a point approximately 1060 feet east of NW Corner Section 29-T95N-R15W; thence northerly and northwesterly through Section 20 and 19-T95N-R15W to approximately 1000 feet west of the NE Corner Section 19-T95N-R15W; thence northerly and westerly through 18-T95N-R15W to the east corporation line of Charles City (approximately 200 feet north of the S ¼ Corner Section 18-T95N-R15W) connecting with unnamed street.

Charles City:

Beginning at the east corporation line (approximately 200 feet north of the S ¼ Corner Section 18-T95N-R15W) connecting with unnamed street; thence westerly to the west corporation line of Charles City (approximately 200 feet north of SW Corner Section 18-T95N-R15W).

Beginning again at the west corporation line of Charles City (approximately 200 feet north of SW Corner Section 18-T95N-R15W) connecting with unnamed street; thence westerly through 13 and 14-T95N-R16W; thence northwesterly and northerly through Sections 15 and 10-T95N-R16W connecting with south junction US 18 (approximately 1350 feet west of E ¼ Corner Section 10-T95N-R16W); thence northerly on US 18 through Sections 10 and 3-T95N-R16W; and northwesterly through Section 34, 27, 22, and 21-T96N-R16W to the north junction US 218; thence northwesterly to the south corporation line of Floyd, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1310 feet south of the N ¼ Corner Section 21-T96N-R16W).

Floyd:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1310 feet south of the N ¼ Corner Section 21-T96N-R16W); thence northwesterly on said unnamed street to the west corporation line (approximately N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 21-T96N-R16W).

Beginning again on the west corporation line of Floyd, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 21-T96N-R16W); thence northwesterly to NW Corner Section 21-T96N-R16W; thence westerly following substantially the north section line of Sections 20 and 19-T96N-R16W and 24, 23, 22, 21, and 20-T96N-R17W to a point just east of the N ¼ Corner Section 20-T96N-R17W; thence southwesterly through Section 20-T96N-R17W to the east corporation line of Rudd, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1750 feet south and 1370 feet west of the SW Corner Section 20-T96N-R17W).

Rudd:

Beginning at the east corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1750 feet south and 1370 feet west of the SW Corner Section 20-T96N-R17W); thence southwesterly and westerly on said unnamed street to the west corporation line (approximately Center Section 24-T96N-R18W).

Beginning again on the west corporation line of Rudd, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately Center Section 24-T96N-R18W); thence westerly through Sections 24, 23, and 22-T96N-R18W to near the E ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 22-T96N-R18W; thence westerly following substantially the S ¼ section line through Sections 22, 21, 20, and 19-T96N-R18W to the Floyd-Cerro Gordo County line at a point near the W ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 19-T96N-R18W, Floyd County (E ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 24-T96N-R19W, Cerro Gordo County).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) in Floyd County to the Primary Road System.
