Beginning at the Franklin‑Wright County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 31‑T92N‑R22W, Franklin County, (NE Corner Section 36-T92N‑R23W, Wright County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R22W, (junction Interstate 35) and Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R21W to a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 36‑T92N‑R21W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction through Sections 36‑T92N‑R21W and Section 31-T92N-R20W to a point approximately ¼ mile south and 2,000 feet east of the NW Corner Section 31‑T92N‑R20W; thence curving northeasterly through Section 31‑T92N‑R20W to the east line of said Section 31; thence easterly following substantially the north quarter section line of Section 32‑T92N‑R20W to the west corporation line of Hampton connecting with Central Avenue.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 3 in Franklin County, Iowa should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 3 begins at the Franklin-Wright County line approximately 5 miles north of Dows and travels in an easterly direction via the City of Hampton to the Franklin‑Butler County line approximately 8 ¼ miles east of Hampton, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 3 and its extension in Franklin County as follows:

Beginning at the Franklin‑Wright County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 31‑T92N‑R22W, Franklin County, (NE Corner Section 36-T92N-R23W, Wright County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R22W (junction Interstate 35) and Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R21W to a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 36‑T92N‑R21W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction through Sections 36‑T92N‑R21W and Section 31‑T92N‑R20W to a point approximately ¼ mile south and 2,000 feet east of the NW Corner Section 31‑T92N‑R20W; thence curving northeasterly through Section 31‑T92N‑R20W to the east line of said Section 31; thence easterly following substantially the north quarter section line of Section 32‑T92N‑R20W to the west corporation line of the City of Hampton connecting with an unnamed street.
