Beginning at
a point approximately 1,150 feet west of the E ¼ Corner Section 32‑T70N‑R43W
(west ramps of Interstate 29); thence easterly following substantially the
center of Sections 32 (junction Interstate 29), 33, 34, and 35‑T70N‑R43W
to the west corporation line of Thurman connecting with North Street.
Thurman:
Beginning on
North Street
at the west corporation line; thence east on North Street to Fletcher Street; thence south on Fletcher Street to Filmore Street;
thence east on Filmore Street
to the east corporation line.
Beginning
again on the east corporation line of Thurman, connecting with Filmore Street;
thence easterly to a point near the center of Section 36‑T70N‑R43W;
thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 36‑T70N‑R43W
and Section 31‑T70N‑R42W to a point approximately 900 feet east of

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Due to a
transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑145‑1 (3) ‑‑2M‑36,
between Fremont County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, the county
road from the west ramps of I-29 approximately two and three‑quarters
miles west of the west corporate limits of the City of Thurman easterly to the
west corporate limits of the City of Thurman was transferred to state
jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.
Due to a
transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑145‑1 (4) ‑‑2M‑36,
between the City of Thurman and the Iowa Department of Transportation, North Street
from the west corporation line to Fletcher Street; Fletcher Street from North
Street to Filmore Street and Filmore Street from Fletcher Street to Main Street
were transferred to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is
recommended that the present description of Iowa
145 in Fremont County be deleted from the primary road
system and the new description, as attached, be
included into the primary road system.
Locate Iowa 145 and its extension in Fremont County
as follows:

description should be officially included into the Primary Road System.
Iowa 145 begins in Thurman, traveling in
an easterly direction approximately 4 miles terminating at the junction US 275.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Locate Iowa 145 and its extensions in Fremont County
as follows:
Thurman:
Beginning at
the intersection of Filmore Street
and Main Street;
thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning on
the east corporation line of the City of Thurman, connecting with an unnamed
street; thence east to a point near the center of Section 36‑T70N‑R43W;
thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 36‑T70N‑R43W
and Section 31‑T70N‑R42W to a point approximately 900 feet east of
the NW Corner Section 6-T69N-R42W; thence east following substantially the
section line of Sections 6, 5, and 4‑T69N‑R42W to a point near the
NE Corner Section 4-T69N‑R42W (junction of US 275).
NOW,
THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve
the location of Iowa 145 in Fremont County, Iowa.
NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this
resolution.
