DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 271 begins at a junction with Iowa 4 approximately one‑quarter mile west of the City of Yale and proceeds east to the City of Yale.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑271‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑39, between Guthrie County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 271 from a junction with Iowa 4 near the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T80N‑R30W east to the west corporation line of the City of Yale to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑271‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑39, between the City of Yale and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 271 from the west corporation line of Yale east and south to Oak Street to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 271 in Guthrie County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 271 and its extension in Guthrie County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T80N‑R30W (junction of Iowa 4); thence easterly following substantially the section line of Section 5‑T80N­R30W to the west corporation line of the City of Yale, connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Yale:

 

Beginning at the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly and southerly to Oak Street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 271 in Guthrie County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially in­cluded into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 271 begins at the junction Iowa 4 approxi­mately ¼ mile west of Yale, and travels easterly terminating in the City of Yale, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 271 and its extension in Guthrie County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T80N‑R30W (junction of Iowa 4); thence easterly following substantially the section line of Section 5‑T80N‑R30W to the west corporation line of the City of Yale, connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Yale:

 

Beginning at the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly and southerly to Oak Street.

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Trans­portation approve the location of Iowa 271 in Guthrie County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
