DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 175 in Hamilton County has been reconstructed in Sections 7, 8 and 18‑T86N‑R25W eliminating the curves and making "T" intersections.  The official description of Iowa 175 should be revised to reflect this reconstruction.  The remainder of Iowa 175 in Hamilton County remains unchanged.

 

Iowa 175 begins on the Hamilton‑Webster County line in Stratford and travels easterly, via Jewell and Ellsworth to the Hamilton‑Hardin County line approximately 5 ½ miles east of Ellsworth.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended to approve revising the description of Iowa 175 in Hamilton County and including the new description in the primary road system.

 

New description ‑ Iowa 175 and its extensions in Hamilton County described as follows:

 

Stratford:

 

Beginning on Teneyck Street on the Hamilton‑Webster County line; thence east on Teneyck Street to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Stratford connecting with Teneyck Street; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 17, 16, 15, 14 and 13‑T86N‑R26W and Section 18‑T86N‑R25W to a point near the NE Corner Section 18‑T86N‑R25W (south junction Iowa 17); thence north following substan­tially the section line of Section 8‑T86N‑R25W to a point near the NW Corner Section 8‑T86N‑R25W (north junction Iowa 17); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12‑T86N‑R25W and Sections 7, 8 and 9‑T86N‑R24W (south junction US 69) at a point near the NE Corner of Sec.9‑T86N‑R24W; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 3‑T86N‑R24W to the south corporation line of Jewell connecting with Main Street.

Ellsworth:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at the west corporation line; thence east on unnamed street to the east corporation line.

Due to the review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 175 in Hamilton County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially in­cluded into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 175 begins on the Hamilton‑Webster County line in Stratford and travels in an easterly direction via the Cities of Jewell and Ellsworth, to the Hamilton‑Hardin county line approximately 5 ½ miles east of Ellsworth, Iowa.
