DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 111 begins on Main Street at the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in Kanawha; thence travels north, northwest, north, northeast, north and west and ends on Bush Avenue at 3rd Street in Woden.

Transfer of Jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑111‑1 (6) ‑‑2M‑41, between the Iowa Department of Transportation and Hancock County as well as the cities of Kanawha, Britt, Crystal Lake and Woden, transferred Iowa 111 to local jurisdiction on December 31, 1990.

The official description of Iowa 111 should be deleted to reflect this transfer.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve deleting the present description of Iowa 111 in Hancock County from the Primary Road System.

Remove Iowa 111 and its extensions in Hancock County as follows:

Kanawha:

Beginning on Main Street at the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; thence north on Main Street to the north corporation line.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 111 in Hancock County should be deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 111 begins in Kanawha traveling in a northerly and westerly direction terminating in Woden via the Cities of Britt and Crystal Lake, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 111 and its extensions in Hancock County as follows:

Kanawha:

Beginning at a point approximately 600 feet south of Second Street thence north to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Kanawha, connecting with unnamed street; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 22, 15, 10 and 3‑T94N‑R25W and Sections 34, 27, 22 and 15‑T95N‑R25W to a point approximately 500 feet north of the W ¼ Corner of Section 15‑T95N‑R25W thence in a northerly direction to a point approximately 2000 feet south of the NW for of Section 15‑T95N‑R25W; thence continuing in a northwesterly direction through Sections 16 and 9‑T95N‑R25W to a point approximately 3100 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 9‑T95N‑R25W; thence north following substantially the center section line through Sections 9 and 4‑T95N‑R25W and Section 33‑T96N‑R25W to the south corporation line of the City of Britt connecting with an unnamed street.
