New Description ‑ US 169 and its extension in Humboldt County described as follows:

Beginning on the Humboldt‑Webster County line at a point near the SW Corner Section 36‑T91N‑R29W, Humboldt County (NW Corner Section 1‑T90N-R29W, Webster County); thence north following substantially the section line of Section 36, 25, 24, and 13‑T91N‑R29W to the south corporation line of Humboldt, connecting with 13th Street.

Humboldt:

Beginning on 13th Street at the south corporation line; thence north on 13th Street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Humboldt, connecting with 13th Street; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 25, 24, 13, 12 and 1‑T92N‑R29W and Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1‑T93N‑R29W to the Humboldt‑Kossuth County line at a point near the NW Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R29W, Humboldt County (SW Corner Section 36‑T94N‑R29W, Kossuth County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 169 in Humboldt County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

US 169 begins at the Humboldt‑Webster County line approximately 4 ½ miles south of Humboldt and travels northerly via the City of Humboldt to the Humboldt‑Kossuth County line approximately 3 miles northwest of Livermore, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate US 169 and its extension in Humboldt County as follows:

Beginning on the Humboldt‑Webster County line at a point near the SW Corner Section 36‑T91N‑R29W, Humboldt County (NW Corner Section 1‑T90N‑R29W, Webster County); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 36, 25, 24, & 13- T91N‑R29W to the south corporation line of the City of Humboldt connecting with an unnamed street.

Humboldt:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Humboldt, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 25, 24, 13, 12 and 1‑T92N‑R29W and Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1‑T93N‑R29W to the Humboldt‑Kossuth County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R29W, Humboldt County (SW Corner Section 36‑T94N‑R29W, Kossuth County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of US 169 in Humboldt County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
