Due to the extension of Iowa 163, the official route description in the Primary Roads System should be revised to reflect this change

New Description- Iowa 163 and its extensions in Jefferson County described as follows:

Beginning at a point 1086 feet north of the NE ¼ Corner of the SE ¼ of Section 36-T72N-R12W, (Wapello-Jefferson County Line) thence traversing northeasterly then easterly along US34 through Sections 31, 30, 29, and 28-T72N-R11W, thence northeasterly and easterly again through Sections 29, 28, 27, 26, 25-T72N-R11W, then continuing easterly then southeasterly through Sections 30, 29, and 28-T72N-R10W, continuing southeasterly then easterly through Sections 33, 3, 2 and 1-T71N-R10W to a point in the NW ¼ Corner that is approximately 1689 feet south and 1340 feet east of the NW Corner of said Section. (Junction with Iowa 1).

Beginning again at a point in the NW ¼ Corner that is approximately 1689 feet south and 1340 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 1-T71N-R10W traversing easterly then northeasterly along US34 through Sections 6, 31, 32, and 29-T72N-R9W, thence east through Sections 28, 27, 34, 35, and 36-T72N-R9W, then southeasterly through Sections 31, 32, 33, and 34-T72N-R8W, then easterly through Sections 35, 36 and 1-T71N-R8W to a point approximately 416 feet south of the NE Corner of said section (Jefferson-Henry County Line).
