DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement 2003-TJ-049, between Jefferson County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 340 from the Jefferson-Wapello County line (approximately 1629 feet south of the NW Corner Section 31-T72N-R11W); thence northeasterly through said Section 31 to the west corporation line of Batavia connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 2310 feet east and 1306 feet south of the NW Corner of said Section 31) to county jurisdiction on August 29, 2007.

Batavia:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement 2003-TJ-048, between the City of Batavia and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of unsigned Iowa 340 from the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly and northeasterly on said unnamed street to the east corporation line (approximately 565 feet west and 62 feet south of the NE Corner Section 31-T72N-R11W) to city jurisdiction on September 5, 2007.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to the relocation of US 34 to bypass Batavia, Old US 34 was designated Unsigned Iowa 340.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Beginning at the Jefferson-Wapello County line (approximately 1629 feet south of the NW Corner Section 31-T72N-R11W); thence northeasterly through said Section 31 to the west corporation line of Batavia connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 2310 feet east and 1306 feet south of the NW Corner of said Section 31).

Batavia:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the west corporation line; thence easterly and northeasterly on said unnamed street to the east corporation line (approximately 565 feet west and 62 feet south of the NE Corner Section 31-T72N-R11W).

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Batavia connecting with an unnamed street; thence northeasterly and easterly to a point near the NE Corner Section 31-T72N-R11W; thence following substantially the north section line of Sections 31 and 32-T72N-R11W to dead-end (approximately 353 feet east of the NW Corner of said Section 32).
