TITLE: Iowa 428, Jones County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 428 begins in the City of Anamosa and travels generally easterly to US 151 approximately 600 feet east of the east corporation line of the City of Anamosa.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑428‑0 (l)‑‑2M‑53, between the City of Anamosa and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa 428 from Garnavillo Street generally easterly southerly and southeasterly to the east corporation line was transferred to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ-2‑53, between Jones County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa 428 from the east corporation line of the City of Anamosa easterly to US 151 was transferred to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 428 in Jones County, as attached, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 428 and its extension in Jones County as follows:

Anamosa:

Commencing on an unnamed street at the west line of Garnavillo Street; thence easterly and southerly; thence curving in a southeasterly direction on an unnamed street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Anamosa, connecting with an unnamed street; thence southeasterly through Section 11‑T84N‑R4W to a point approximately 1,650 feet north of the W ¼ Corner Section 12‑T84N‑R4W (junction Iowa 64 and US 151).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 428 in Jones County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 428 in Jones County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 428 and its extension in Jones County as follows:

Anamosa:

Commencing on an unnamed street at the west line of Garnavillo Street; thence easterly and southerly; thence curving in a southeasterly direction on an unnamed street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Commencing again on an unnamed street at the southwest corporation line; thence southeasterly on said unnamed street to the east corporation line.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Anamosa, connecting with an unnamed street; thence southeasterly through Section 11‑T84N‑R4W to a point approximately 1,650 feet north of the W ¼ Corner Section 12‑T84N‑R4W (junction Iowa 64 and US 151).
