New Description – Iowa 2 and its extensions in Lee County described as follows:

Beginning on the Lee‑Van Buren County line at a point approximately 430 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6‑T67N‑R7W, Lee County (SE Corner of Section 1-T67N-R8W, Van Buren County); thence in a southeasterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 6 and 7‑T67N‑R7W, to a point approximately 200 feet south of the NE Corner of Section 7‑T67N‑R7W; thence in an easterly, northeasterly, and easterly direction through Sections 8, 5, 4, 3, and 2‑T67N‑R7W, to a point approximately 400 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 2‑T67N‑R7W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 2 and 1‑T67N‑R7W and Sections 6 and 5‑T67N‑R6W to the west corporation line of the City of Donnellson connecting with Madison Street (approximately 3030 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 5-T67N-R6W).

Donnellson:

Beginning on Madison Street at the west corporation line (approximately 3030 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 5-T67N-R6W); thence easterly on Madison Street to the east corporation line (approximately 3340 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 4-T67N-R6W).

Iowa 2 begins at the Lee‑Van Buren County line approximately 8 miles west of Donnellson and travels in an easterly direction to the Iowa‑Illinois State line via the cities of Donnellson and Fort Madison, Iowa.

To provide a more detailed description of the extension of Iowa 2 through Donnellson and Fort Madison, the description of Iowa 2 in Lee County should be revised and the new description officially included in the Primary Road System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve revising the description of Iowa 2 in Lee County and including the new description in the Primary Road System.

New Description ‑ Iowa 2 and its extensions in Lee County described as follows:

Beginning on the Lee‑Van Buren County line at a point approximately 700 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 6‑T67N‑R7W, Lee County (SE Corner of Section 1-T67N-R8W, Van Buren County); thence in a southeasterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 6 and 7‑T67N‑R7W, to a point approximately 200 feet south of the NE Corner of Section 7‑T67N‑R7W; thence in an easterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 8, 5, 4, 3, and 2‑T67N‑R7W, to a point approximately 400 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 2‑T67N‑R7W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 2 and 1‑T67N‑R7W and Sections 6 and 5‑T67N‑R6W to the west corporation line of the City of Donnellson connecting with Madison Avenue.
