Beginning on the Lyon‑Sioux County line at a point near the SW Corner of Section 33‑T98N‑R45W, Lyon County (NW Corner of Section 4‑T97N‑R45W, Sioux County); thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 33 and 28‑T98N‑R45W to a point approximately 900 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of Section 29‑T98N‑R45W; then in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately 600 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 29‑T98N‑R45W; then in a northeasterly direction through Section 20‑T98N‑R45W to a point near the E ¼ Corner of Section 20‑T98N‑R45W; then north following substantially the section line of Sections 21, 16, 9, and 4‑T98N‑R45W and Sections 33, 28, 21, 16, and 9‑T99N‑R45W to the south corporation line of Rock Rapids connecting with Union Street.

Rock Rapids:

Beginning on Union Street at the south corporation line; then north on Union Street to 1st Avenue; then westerly on 1st Avenue to the west corporation line.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 75 in Lyon County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

US 75 begins at the Lyon‑Sioux County line approximately 4 miles southeast of Doon and travels in a northerly direction to the Iowa‑Minnesota line via the City of Rock Rapids, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate US 75 and its extension in Lyon County, Iowa as follows:

Beginning on the Lyon‑Sioux County line at a point near the SW Corner of Section 33-T98N-R45W, Lyon County, (NW Corner of Section 4‑T97N‑R45W, Sioux County); thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 33 and 28‑T98N‑R45W to a point approximately 900 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of Section 29‑T98N‑R45W; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately 600 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 29‑T98N‑R45W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 29 and 20-T98N‑R45W to a point near the E ¼ Corner of Section 20‑T98N‑R45W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 21, 16, 9, and 4‑T98N‑R45W and Sections 33, 28, 21, 16, and 9‑T99N‑R45W to the south corporation line of the City of Rock Rapids connecting with an unnamed street.
