DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-001, between Marion County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 368 from approximately 460 feet east and 240 feet north of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W at a dead end; thence southeasterly approximately 650 feet to a dead end; again approximately 1280 feet east and 1010 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W at a dead end; thence southeasterly to north corporation line of Pleasantville (approximately 1900 feet south and 2090 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W) to county jurisdiction on October 20, 2004.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-002, between the City of Pleasantville and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 368 from the north corporation line; thence southerly and southeasterly to the south corporation line (approximately 230 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 22-T76N-R21W) to city jurisdiction on October 20, 2004.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-001, between Marion County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 368 from the south corporation line of Pleasantville; thence southerly and southwesterly to the junction of Iowa 5 (approximately 1880 feet east and 550 feet north of the SW Corner of 22-T76N-R21W) to county jurisdiction on October 20, 2004.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve deleting the description of Unsigned Iowa 368 in Marion County to the Primary Road System.

New Description – Unsigned Iowa 368 and its extensions in Marion County described as follows:

Beginning approximately 460 feet east and 240 feet north of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W at a dead end; thence southeasterly approximately 650 feet to a dead end.

Beginning again approximately 1280 feet east and 1010 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W at a dead end; thence southeasterly to north corporation line of Pleasantville (approximately 1900 feet south and 2090 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 9-T76N-R21W).

Pleasantville:

Beginning on the north corporation line; thence southerly and southeasterly to the south corporation line (approximately 230 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 22-T76N-R21W).

Beginning again on the south corporation line of Pleasantville; thence southerly and southwesterly to the junction of Iowa 5 (approximately 1880 feet east and 550 feet north of the SW Corner of 22-T76N-R21W).

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 368 in Marion County to the Primary Road System.
