Beginning on the Iowa‑South Dakota State line at the Big Sioux River in the NE ¼ Section 28‑T92N‑R49W; thence east through Sections 28, 27 and 26‑T92N‑R49W to a point (south junction Iowa 12) in the NW ¼ Section 26‑T92N‑R49W on the east side of the Dakota and Iowa Railroad; thence in a general northeasterly direction along the east side of said railway and substantially parallel thereto through Sections 26, 23, 14, 13, 12 and 1‑T92N‑R49W and Section 6‑T92N‑R48W to the south corporation line of Akron connecting with an unnamed street.

Akron:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south corporation line; thence northeast on unnamed street to South Street (north junction Iowa 12); thence east and southeast on South Street to the south corporation line.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 3 in Plymouth County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 3 begins on the Iowa‑South Dakota State line approximately 1 ½ miles west of Westfield and travels generally northeasterly and easterly via Akron, Le Mars and Remsen to the Plymouth‑Cherokee County line approximately 6 miles east of Remsen, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate on the Primary Road System Iowa 3 and its extensions in Plymouth County as follows:

Beginning on the Iowa-South Dakota State line at the Big Sioux River in the NE ¼ Section 28‑T94N-R49W; thence easterly through Sections 28, 27 and 26‑T92N-R49W to a point (south junction Iowa 12) in the NW ¼ Section 26‑T92N‑R49W on the east side of the Dakota & Iowa Railroad; thence in a general northeasterly direction along the east side of said railway and substantially parallel thereto through Sections 26, 23, 14, 13, 12 and 1‑T92N‑R49W and Section 6‑T92N-R48W to the south corporation line of the City of Akron connecting with an unnamed street.
