Beginning on the Pocahontas‑Calhoun County line (north corporation line of Pomeroy) at a point near the SE Corner Section 36‑T90N‑R33W, Pocahontas County (NE Corner Section 1‑T89N‑R33W, Calhoun County) connecting with East Street in Pomeroy; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 31 and 30‑T90N‑R32W (N. junction of Iowa 7); Sections 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T90N‑R32W and Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T91N‑R32W to the south corporation line of Pocahontas connecting with SW 7th Street.

Pocahontas:

Beginning on SW 7th Street at the south corporation line; thence north on SW 7th Street to NW 7th Street; thence north an NW 7th Street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Pocahontas connecting with NW 7th Street; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T92N‑R32W and Section 31‑T93N‑R32W to a point (junction Iowa 10) approximately 2,270 feet north of the SW Corner Section 31‑T93N‑R32W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T93N‑R32W to the Pocahontas‑Palo Alto County line at a point near the NW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R32W, Pocahontas County (SW Corner Section 31‑T94N‑R32W, Palo Alto County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 4 in Pocahontas County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 4 begins on the Pocahontas‑Calhoun County line at the north corporation line of Pomeroy and travels northerly via the City of Pocahontas to the Pocahontas-Palo Alto County line approximately 4 miles northwest of Plover, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 4 and its extension in Pocahontas County as follows:

Beginning on the Pocahontas‑Calhoun County line (north corporation line of the City of Pomeroy) at a point near the SE Corner Section 36‑T90N-R33W, Pocahontas County (NE Corner Section 1‑T89N‑R33W, Calhoun County) connecting with an unnamed street in the City of Pomeroy; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 31 and 30-T90N‑R32W (north junction of Iowa 7); Sections 19,18,7 and 6-T90N-R32W and Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T91N‑R32W to the south corporation line of the City of Pocahontas connecting with an unnamed street.

Pocahontas:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Pocahontas connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T92N‑R32W and Section 31‑T93N‑R32W to a point (junction Iowa 10) approximately 2270 feet north) of the SW Corner Section 31‑T93N‑R32W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T93N‑R32W to the Pocahontas‑Palo Alto County line at a point near the NW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R32W, Pocahontas County (SW Corner Section 31-T94N‑R32W, Palo Alto county).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 4 in Pocahontas County, Iowa.
