Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑316‑3(4), between Polk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the county road from the Polk-Warren county line approximately 1550 feet north of the S ¼ Corner Section 12-T77N-R22W northerly and westerly to the east corporation line of the City of Runnells to state jurisdiction on January 1, 1981. The road section is now designated as Iowa 316.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑316‑3(6), between the City of Runnells and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred McKinney Street from the east corporation line west to Brown Street to state jurisdiction on March 9, 1981. The street is now designated as Iowa 316.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑316‑3(5), between the City of Runnells and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 316 on Brown Street from McKinney Street to Hancock Street to city jurisdiction on March 9, 1981.

Iowa 316 begins on the Polk‑Warren county line approximately two miles southeast of the City of Runnells, and travels generally northerly via the City of Runnells to Iowa 163 approximately eight miles east of the City of Pleasant Hill.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 316 in Polk County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of Iowa 316 in the primary road system.

Beginning on an unnamed street at Hancock Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
