Senate File 451 transferred Iowa 243 in its entirety, in Sac County, to city and county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0(1)‑‑2M‑81, between Sac County and the Iowa Department of Transportation and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0(2)‑‑2M‑81, between the City of Lake View and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the section of road from the entrance of Blackhawk Lake State Park approximately 300 feet south of the W ¼ Corner Section 34‑T87N‑R36W north to a junction with US 71 near the NW Corner Section 34‑T87N‑R36W to state jurisdiction on August 7, 1980. The section is now designated Iowa 243.

Iowa 243 begins at the Blackhawk Lake State Park in the City of Lake View and proceeds north to a junction with US 71 at the City of Lake View.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of Iowa 243 in Sac County in the primary road system.

Locate Iowa 243 and its extension in Sac County as follows:

Lake View:

Beginning at the entrance of Blackhawk Lake State Park connecting with an unnamed street; thence north to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again at the north corporation line of the City of Lake View connecting with an unnamed street; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 34‑T87N‑R36W to a point near the NW Corner Section 34-T87N-R36W (junction US 71).
