Beginning at a point approximately 5,100 feet west of the SE Corner Section 31‑T86N‑R38W, Sac County (NE Corner Section 6‑T85N‑R38W, Crawford County); thence easterly along the Sac‑Crawford County line (see Crawford County) to a point approximately 2,200 feet east of the SW Corner Section 34‑T86N‑R38W, Sac County (NW Corner Section 3‑T85N‑R36W, Crawford County); thence curving in a northeasterly direction through Section 34‑T86N‑R38W to a point approximately 2,430 feet south of the NE Corner said Section 34; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 35, 26, 23, 14, 11 and 2‑T86N‑R38W and Section 35‑T87N‑R38W to the south corporation line of Odebolt, connecting with Des Moines Street.

Odebolt:

Beginning on Des Moines Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Des Moines Street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Odebolt connecting with Des Moines Street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 35‑T87N‑R38W (east corporation line of Odebolt) to the south corporation line of Odebolt, connecting with Des Moines Street.

Odebolt:

Beginning on Des Moines Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Des Moines Street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Odebolt connecting with Des Moines Street; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 35‑T87N‑R38W (east corporation line of Odebolt) to a point approximately 50 feet south of the NW Corner Section 35‑T87N‑R38W; thence curving northeasterly through Sections 35 and 26‑T87N‑R38W to a junction with Iowa 175.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 39 begins near the south‑west corner of Sac County, and travels in an easterly and northerly direction via Odebolt to a junction with Iowa 175 east of Odebolt, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 39 in Sac County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 39 in Sac County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Route System upon the adoption of the resolution.

Locate Iowa 39 in Sac County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 5100 feet west of the SE Corner Section 31-T86N-R38W, Sac County (NE Corner Section 6‑T85N‑R38W, Crawford County); thence easterly along the Sac-Crawford County line (see Crawford County) to a point approximately 2200 feet east of the SW Corner Section 34‑T86N‑R38W, Sac County (NW Corner Section 3-T85N-R38W, Crawford County); thence curving in a northeasterly direction through Section 34‑T86N‑R38W to a point approximately 2430 feet south of the NE Corner said Section 34; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 35, 26, 23, 14, 11, and 2‑T86N‑R38W and Section 35‑T87N‑R38W to the south corporation line of the City of Odebolt connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the northerly corporation line of the City of Odebolt connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 35‑T87N‑R38W (east corporation line of the City of Odebolt) to the southerly corporation line of the City of Odebolt connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the southerly corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Odebolt connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 35‑T87N‑R38W (east corporation line of the City of Odebolt) to a point approximately 50 feet south of the NW Corner Section 35‑T87N‑R38W; thence curving northeasterly through Sections 35 and 26‑T87N‑R38W to a junction with Iowa 175.
