Commencing at the Iowa‑Illinois State line on the Iowa‑Illinois Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River; thence northwesterly through Sections 33, 32, 29, 20, and 17-T78N‑R4E to the west corporation line/east corporation line of Davenport (a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 17‑T78N‑R4E).

Davenport:

Commencing at the east corporation line/west corporation line of the City of Bettendorf; thence northwesterly through Sections 17, 8, and 5‑T78N‑R4E to the intersection of Interstate 80 at a point approximately 191 feet south and 850 feet west from the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T78N‑R4E.

Due to a review of our Primary System records, the primary route description for Interstate 74 in Scott County was revised.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

New Description - Interstate 74 and its extensions in Scott County described as follows:

Bettendorf:

Commencing at the Iowa‑Illinois State line on the Iowa‑Illinois Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River; thence northwesterly through Sections 33, 32, 29, 20, and 17-T78N‑R4E to the west corporation line/east corporation line of Davenport connecting with an unnamed street (a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 17‑T78N‑R4E).

Davenport:

Commencing on an unnamed street at the east corporation line/west corporation line of the City of Bettendorf; thence northwesterly through Sections 17, 8, and 5‑T78N‑R4E to the intersection of Interstate 80 at a point approximately 191 feet south and 850 feet west from the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T78N‑R4E.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Interstate 74 begins in Bettendorf at the Iowa‑Illinois State line, and travels generally northerly through Bettendorf and Davenport to Interstate 80 in Davenport, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Interstate System Records Interstate 74 in Scott County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Interstate System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Interstate 74 in Scott County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Interstate System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Interstate 74 in Scott County, Iowa.
