DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Iowa 318 begins in the City of Clutier and proceeds east to a
junction with Iowa 21 on the Tama‑Benton
County line approximately five miles east of the City of Clutier.
Transfer
of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑318‑0(3)‑‑2M‑86,
between the city of Clutier and the Iowa Department
of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 318 from Front Street north
and east to the east corporation line of the City of Clutier
to city jurisdiction on August 18, 1980.
Transfer
of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑318‑0(2)‑‑2M‑86,
between Tama County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that
portion of Iowa 318 from the east corporation line of the City of Clutier east to a junction with Iowa 21 at the Tama‑Benton
County line near the NE Corner Section 24‑T84N‑R13W to county
jurisdiction on July 22, 1980.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It
is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 318 in Tama
County from the primary
road system.
Remove
Iowa 318 and its extension in Tama County
as follows:
Clutier:
Beginning on an unnamed street at Front Street;
thence northerly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an
unnamed street.
Beginning
on the east corporation line of the City of Clutier connecting
with an unnamed street; thence easterly following substantially the section
line of Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24‑T84N‑R13W to the Tama-Benton
County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 24-T84N‑R13W Tama
County (NW Corner Section 19‑T84N‑R12W Benton County) (junction
Iowa 21).

and travels northerly and easterly to the Tama‑Benton County line
approximately 5 ½ miles east of Clutier, Iowa.
Due
to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 318 in Tama County
should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included
into the Primary System.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It
is recommended that the old description of Iowa
318 in Tama County be deleted and the new
description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included into the Primary Road System upon the adoption
of this resolution.
