TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 251 Warren County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 251 begins on the Warren‑Madison County line approximately four and one‑half miles south of the City of Bevington and proceeds easterly approximately one‑half mile to the east ramps of Interstate 35.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑251‑0 (4), between Warren County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 251 from the Warren‑Madison County line near the NW Corner Section 19-T75N‑R25W easterly to the east ramps of Interstate 35 approxi­mately 650 feet east of the N ¼ Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R25W to county jurisdiction on August 1, 1980.

 

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 251 in Warren County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 251 in Warren County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Warren‑Madison County line at a point near the NW Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R25W Warren County (NE Corner Section 24­-T75N‑R26W Madison County); thence easterly following substan­tially the section line of Section 19‑T75N‑R25W to a junction with Interstate 35 at a point near the N ¼ Corner said Section 19; thence easterly following substantially the section line said Section 19 to a point approximately 650 feet east of the N ¼ Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R25W.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 251 begins on the Warren‑Madison County line approximately 4 ½ miles south of Bevington, and travels easterly to an east ramp of Interstate 35.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 251 in Warren County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 251 in Warren County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Beginning on the Warren-Madison County Line at a point 29.6 feet south of the NW Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R25W, Warren County (NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R26W, Madison County); thence easterly to a point approximately 650 feet east of the N ¼ Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R25W (Interstate 35).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Iowa 251 in Warren County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.

Designation to become effective upon completion and opening to traffic of relocation Iowa 251, more specifically Madison‑Warren County Project FN‑1067.
