Beginning on the Washington‑Keokuk County line at a point near the NW Corner Section 19‑T77N‑R9W, Washington County (NE Corner Section 24‑T77N‑R10W, Keokuk County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24‑T77N‑R9W to the west corporation line of Wellman, connecting with 6th Street.

Wellman:

Beginning on 6th Street at the west corporation line; thence east on 6th Street to the east corporation line.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Wellman connecting with 6th Street; thence east following substantially the section line of Section 19‑T77N‑R8W to a point approximately 2,150 feet east of the NW Corner said Section 19; thence in a generally northeasterly direction through Sections 18, 17, 16 and 15‑T77N‑R8W to a point approximately 900 feet south of the N ¼ Corner Section 15‑T77N‑R8W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 15, 10 and 11‑T77N‑R8W to a point approximately ¼ mile north and 600 feet east of the SW Corner Section 11‑T77N‑R8W; thence east following substantially the south quarter section line of Sections 11 and 12‑T77N‑R8W to the west corporation line of Kalona, connecting with East Avenue.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 22 begins on the Washington‑Keokuk County line approximately 3 miles south of the NW corner of Washington County, and travels generally easterly via Wellman, Kalona, and Riverside to the Washington‑Johnson County line approximately 1 mile south and 1 mile east of the NE corner of Washington County, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 22 in Washington County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 22 in Washington County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
