PROPOSAL & DELIVERABLE GUIDELINES

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

Proposal guidelines have been developed to help researchers prepare a proposal that will be acceptable for review. Please note the differences between Iowa Highway Research Board (IHRB), State Planning & Research (SPR) and Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) proposals when applicable.

DATA MANAGEMENT PLAN

For federally funded research projects, excluding State Planning & Research (SPR) funds, a Data Management Plan (DMP) is required. Upon written notification by Iowa DOT that there is federal-aid participation in a research project that is other than SPR funds, the Contractor shall submit for review and approval a DMP in accordance with the requirements and guidance for the Data Management Plan Requirements for federally funded research projects. See Iowa DOT DMP guidance here.

Section 508 COMPLIANCE

All Technology Transfer Technical Briefs shall comply with Section 508 requirements, regardless of funding source. Section 508 is an amendment to the United States Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973 mandating that all electronic and information technology developed, procured, maintained, or used by the federal government be accessible to people with disabilities. Refer to 29 U.S.C 794 (d) for additional information.
