Application for DBE Program
The DBE Program, which has been developed under the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) policies, is administered by the Office of Contracts. Authority for the department's DBE Program is derived from, but is not limited to:
- Title VI of the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 and any amendments.
- Executive Order 11625 and any amendments.
- Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).
- 49 CFR Part 26 of the Federal Register and any amendments.
Mar. 6 DBE Goal Setting Meeting at 1 p.m. CST
This meeting will establish DBE goals for the April 17, 2012, letting.
Notices will be sent for DBE Annual Affidavits and Three-Year Review
Letters will be mailed on Feb. 15, 2012, with all requested information due by April 16. Send all documents to the external civil rights team,
Office of Employee Services, Iowa Department of Transportation, 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50010.
December 6 DBE Goal Setting Meeting at 1:00 pm cst.
This meeting will establish DBE goals for the January 17, 2012 letting.
Final FY 2011 Annual DBE Accomplishment 5.2 percent
2012-2014 Annual DBE Goal Methodology Submitted.

Equal employment and affirmative action
The Iowa DOT takes affirmative action to ensure that disadvantaged business enterprises have the maximum practical opportunity to get Iowa DOT contracts for construction, professional and technical service. The Iowa DOT also has taken specific steps to ensure there is no discrimination in the awarding and administering of contracts.
