INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE
CONCRETE PIPE SEALERS
Concrete pipe sealers for use as detailed on Standard Road Plan, DR-121, shall meet the requirements of section 4149.04, D, 2 of the Standard Specifications. Approved Products are listed in the Materials Approved Products Listing Enterprise (MAPLE).
ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance of concrete pipe sealers for use on Department of Transportation projects will be on the basis of manufacturer and brand name approval.
Manufacturer and brand name approval will be based on technical data sheets and product brochures compliance to specifications as submitted by the manufacturer to the Construction and Materials Bureau. MSDS sheets for the product, if applicable, will need to be provided. Samples of the product may be requested and required as the Construction and Materials Bureau deems appropriate. Third party test data for the product shall be provided for review.
An approval will remain in effect unless withdrawn because of deficient test results on monitor samples.
The Construction and Materials Bureau or District Materials offices may sample and test concrete pipe sealers for manufacturer and brand name approval monitoring purposes. Project sample quantity will be at the direction of the Construction and Materials Bureau if requested.
