INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE
Modular Glare Screen Systems shall meet the requirements of applicable Iowa Department of Transportation Specifications. Approved Products are listed in the Materials Approved Products Listing Enterprise (MAPLE).
Acceptance of Modular Glare Screen Systems for use on Iowa Department of Transportation projects will be on the basis of manufacturer and brand name approval along with IM 107 certification of Compliance.
To obtain approval the manufacturer shall submit the following items to the Construction and Materials Bureau in Ames, Iowa:
1. A current Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
2. A set of current product literature and complete manufacturer recommendations for usage.
3. A sample adequate to make routine evaluations.
4. Verification / Certification the Product is made in America pursuant to IM 107
The laboratory evaluation will check the suitability of the product for the intended usage.
Approval of Modular Glare Screen Systems may be withdrawn because of noncompliant monitor test results; product changes made after the original approval, or unsatisfactory field performance.
The manufacturer shall notify the Construction and Materials Bureau of any changes to products listed within our MAPLE system and provide documentation of continued specification compliance based on any changes to the product.
The Construction and Materials Bureau or District Materials personnel may sample and test Modular Glare Screen Systems to verify compliance with specifications.
