Floyd Boulevard at I-29


Saturday, Aug. 18 - 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Construction work to set bridge beams on Interstate 29 bridge over Floyd Boulevard in Sioux City will require closing Floyd Boulevard from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, August 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.

Motorists wanting to go to southbound I-29 will be directed around the work zone by traveling onto I-29, then left on Wesley Parkway, and then left on the southbound on-ramp. Motorists wanting to exit southbound I-29 to Floyd Boulevard will take Exit 149 to Wesley Parkway and utilize surface streets to Floyd Boulevard.

March 29-Oct. 11

Southbound I-29 traffic between U.S. 77, Iowa 12, and Wesley Parkway and Floyd Boulevard (exit 147a) will be shifted to the southbound frontage road near Wesley Parkway to accommodate reconstruction of the southbound I-29 lanes beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, March 23, until Thursday, Oct. 11, weather permitting. The southbound Pierce Street on-ramp and southbound Floyd Boulevard off-ramp will be closed.

Segment 2

Status update

Reconstruction of the I-29 southbound lanes is scheduled for 2018-19. Work will include replacement of the bridges over Floyd Boulevard, Pierce Street, and Perry Creek, as well as construction of a new bridge at Virginia Street.
