I-29 Construction Update
Singing Hills Blvd./Business U.S. 75 closure
Sept. 18 - Sept. 22
Railroad crossing replacement work by the Union Pacific Railroad requires closing Singing Hills Boulevard/Business U.S. 75 at South Lewis Boulevard to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 office in Sioux City. Traffic will be detoured around the work zone using South Lewis Boulevard, Donner Avenue, and York Street.
Wesley Parkway ramp closure
At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, the contractor will close the northbound off-ramp (exit 148) to Wesley Parkway so reconstruction work can take place on the northbound I-29 mainline. Motorists wanting to go north at exit 148 will be detoured to the Nebraska Street exit, north to Third Street, and then west to Wesley Parkway. This closure will be in place until late November 2017. Floyd Boulevard ramp closure
Ramp construction work, in conjunction with the Interstate 29 reconstruction project, in Sioux City, will require closure of the northbound I-29 Floyd Boulevard on-ramp beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office in Sioux City.
Traffic will be directed onto a signed detoured around the work zone (see map). Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
