Overview
Each year the Office of Policy and Legislative Services reviews all new legislation and compiles transportation- and government-related bills into one publication. The publication includes 57 of the House and Senate files passed by the General Assembly during the 2007 regular session.
The 2007 legislature adjourned April 29 and sent 99 House and 123 Senate files to the Governor. Copies of all enrolled bills are available on the General Assembly Web site at:
Iowa General Assembly
The Subject Listing shows the bills by category and bill number. The five subject listing categories are: Appropriations; Highway; Motor Vehicle; Air, Rail, Transit and Water; and Government and Administration.
The Index by Code Section identifies certain Code sections amended by the bills, along with the bill number and a brief explanation of the change.
The Veto/Item Veto page identifies bills of interest that were vetoed or item vetoed by Governor Culver.
The Reports/Studies Required page lists those reports/studies that affect the DOT.
The Administrative Rules page identifies rules that the DOT must adopt or amend as a result of new legislation.
The DOT initiated several pieces of legislation. For details on legislation that include DOT initiatives, see HF 752 (DOT Appropriations), HF 793 (Transportation Changes), HF 911(Infrastructure Appropriations), and HF 932 (TIME-21).
Copies of the bills are also available on the General Assembly's Web site.
