NEW PROCUREMENT SOURCING SYSTEM COMING SOON!
The Iowa DOT will soon be moving to a new procurement sourcing application hosted by Ion Wave Technologies, Inc. All interested suppliers, contractors and service providers, both current or new, will need to register on the Ion Wave website. We will post more information soon about how to get registered.
In the meantime, the current process will be in effect.
The current solicitation schedule provides the list of current needs for the department. This site contains solicitations for facility improvement projects, miscellaneous large and small equipment, vehicles, information technology services and miscellaneous goods and services. Types of requests are categorized as; requests for bid (RFB), requests for proposal (RFP) or request for information (RFI).

Request for information
An RFI may be sought by the Department at any time for purposes of seeking industry knowledge of products or services. There are no awards or purchases made by the Iowa DOT for these types of requests.
The Iowa Administrative Code defines two types of solicitation; Formal and Informal based on thresholds of cost
A formal, sealed bid procedure is used for purchase of goods and/or services exceeding $50,000.00.
An Informal bid procedure is used for purchase of goods and/or services less than $50,000.00.
All correspondence, documents, addendums or other pertinent information will be posted below for each solicitation. Vendors will be required to visit the current solicitation schedule periodically for all updates.
Please use the furnished mailing label included in each bid proposal, or
include “Iowa Department of Transportation, proposal number & letting date” on the outside of the return envelope.
The list of solicitations will be refreshed at 3 p.m. each day.
