Strategic Plan Rollout


How will the strategic plan be rolled out?

Everyone will be affected in some way by the changes the plan brings about. But, because the strategic plan focuses on change, not everyone, or every area of the Iowa DOT will be directly involved in the work of the strategic plan.

The plan lays out key initiatives that will be the focus for change. Groups of employees will be tasked with working on those initiatives. While you may not be involved in the work of these key initiatives, you will still be involved in implementing changes in your day-to-day work.

Every Iowa DOT employee should also be utilizing the mission and vision into the work they do and implementing the core values into the way they operate as an Iowa DOT employee. As part of the plan rollout, work units will be assessing the current state of core values within their area and working on further implementing and improving their approach to the core values. Your job is to best understand how you operate day-to-day so we can continue to improve.

Who will have a role in the strategic plan?
