Traffic Impact Analysis

The Department requires a traffic impact analysis for all Type "A" & "B" access permits. When a Type "A" or "B" access is requested, the EOT will alert the applicant to what level (traffic impact letter or study) of analysis the Department will require. The completed traffic impact analysis will be reviewed by the Department priors to the issuance of an entrance permit.

The purpose of a traffic impact analysis is to evaluate the effects of a proposed development on the surrounding transportation network. The analysis will study the ability of the intended land use traffic to efficiently and safely enter/exit the site. Finally, the analysis will recommend any mitigation measures needed to accommodate the additional traffic volumes resulting from the proposed entrances.
