DRIVER Reports and Summaries

More than 2 million Iowans maintain some type of driver’s license or identification card. The data records include information from ID card holders, drivers that have been ticketed for driving without a license, expired licenses, and suspended drivers. Eligible license applicants may obtain their license in all 99 counties throughout the state. The driver's license information is updated in real time.

Who maintains the data system?
Driver records are maintained by the Iowa Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Division.


What data records are collected?

The driver record contains the following information.

  • Accidents (regardless of fault)
  • Current endorsements
  • Current license class
  • Current restrictions
  • Date of Birth
  • Driver's full name
  • Driver's license number
  • Eye color
  • Height
  • Issue date and expiration date of license
  • License status
  • Mailing address
  • Previous endorsements
  • Previous restrictions
  • Residential address
  • Sanctions (suspensions, revocations, disqualifications)
  • Sex
  • Traffic convictions
  • Weight
