The Iowa DOT maintains vast amounts of records, reports, and other information that are available for review to anyone who requests them. We are committed to providing records upon request in accordance with the requirements of Iowa’s open records law. Please note that some records may be considered confidential or may be redacted to eliminate exposure of personally identifiable information.
You will be provided up to three hours of staff time for retrieval and review of records and 10 pages in hard copy at no charge. Additional staff time to fulfill a records request will be charged at $33 an hour and ten cents per hard copy page. To reduce copy charges, every attempt will be made to fulfill requests electronically, if possible.
If charges are necessary to fulfill your request, you will be notified in writing of the costs and payment methods. Payment must be received by the Iowa DOT before records will be released.
