Iowa Aviation user guide
Iowa Aviation app The Iowa Aviation application has been developed to bring information regarding aviation activity in Iowa into a compatible format for smartphones and tablets, including iPads, iPhones and Android devices.

This version of the application includes an airport directory, current Iowa aviation weather information, and resources for obtaining other Iowa aviation-related information to assist pilots using the state's air transportation system.
  • For specific airport information, select Airport Information, then select an airport.
  • Select Weather to view Iowa weather information using Weatherview.
  • Select Calendar of events, to view the Iowa Department of Transportation's Office of Aviation calendar.
  • The Office of Aviation website has all of this information and more.
  • You can also find Iowa Aviation on Facebook.

To see information for an airport, click on Airport Information and select an airport from the list.

Step 2



Airport details and information are listed. Tap on the picture for a closer view of the runway.

Step 3



  • Select AWOS to see weather observations at the selected airport for the past three days.
  • Selecting Website will open the airport's website. Not all airports have a website; website will not be shown if one is not available.
  • The Glossary defines some common aviation terminology.

Step 4



Select the Iowa map icon and a regional map will display. Select a region on the map and the airports in that region will be displayed.

Select an airport and the airport information will be displayed as shown above.
