Rockwell Collins is one of 112 companies that have signed on to support the White House Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) initiative, Change the Equation (CTEq). CTEqs goals are threefold:
- to improve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teaching
- inspire student appreciation and excitement for STEM programs and careers
- achieve a sustained commitment to improving STEM education from leaders in business, government and education
In an effort to raise awareness of STEM careers, CTEq launched a "STEM is Cool" video contest. Rockwell Collins is one of 18 companies to submit a video for the contest. The goal of the competition is to impress upon students (and their parents and teachers) that focusing on STEM subjects can dramatically expand career opportunities in ways they may not have expected. Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite video until midnight on Sunday, Dec. 19. Of course, the real winners are the students and parents who will learn about cool jobs in STEM!
