This website and other Iowa DOT websites that are linked to this site or affiliated with this site (collectively “the Site”), and all the information, communications, software, scripting, photos, text, video, graphics, music, sounds, images, and other materials and services found on the Site (collectively “Content”), is intended for the lawful use of the public in obtaining access to transportation-related information.
The Site is controlled and operated in whole or in part by the Iowa DOT from its offices within the state of Iowa. The Iowa DOT makes no representation that the materials available on the Site are appropriate or available for use in other locations, and access to them from jurisdictions where their contents are illegal is prohibited.
These terms and conditions are to be governed and construed by Iowa law. In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions, or your use of or access to this Site, litigation must be brought in the state or federal court in the state of Iowa.

You are hereby granted permission to access the Content from the Site in whole or in part, solely for your personal, educational, and noncommercial use of viewing and browsing through the Site or ordering products or services from the Site.
You may make such limited number of duplicates of any output, both in machine-readable or hard copy form, as may be reasonable for your personal, educational, and noncommercial use. Materials must include any copyright notices originally included with the Content in all copies.
This permission terminates automatically if you breach any of the Terms of Use. Design files
Revisions or additions to the design file standards may occur at any time, the receiver agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Iowa DOT, its officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, suits, losses, damages, or costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from the use of outdated design file standards, and such indemnification shall survive acceptance of said file(s) by the receiver. Use of these files is not a substitute for procuring the services of licensed design and engineering professionals. The receiver assumes all responsibility for compliance with engineering practices.
Redistribution
In the event of any permitted redistribution or publication of copyrighted material, no changes in or deletion of author attribution, trademark legend, or copyright notice shall be made. You acknowledge that you do not acquire any ownership rights by downloading copyrighted material.
Cameras on the Web
The Iowa DOT is not responsible for inaccurate or outdated information seen on a camera. Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather and its effects on roadways, and because weather, road, and traffic conditions change rapidly, motorists are in the best position to perceive such conditions and adjust their driving accordingly. Those relying on the information presented on the Site do so at their own risk, and neither the State of Iowa, Iowa DOT, nor any of their employees or agents shall be liable for either the accuracy of this information or any actions taken based on the information. Recordings from roadside cameras may be briefly retained but are not archived by the Iowa DOT.
Use of geographic information systems (GIS) data
Geographic Information Systems data is information that constitutes “public records” under Iowa Code chapter 22. It is being provided to you by Iowa DOT on an “as is” basis without any warranty of any kind and does not require written permission for use. Data can be manipulated and used for private and commercial purposes. Iowa DOT disclaims all warranties and conditions, express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with regards to this information Iowa DOT shall not be liable for any damages, including but not limited to special, incidental, or consequential damages or lost profits (however arising, including negligence), arising out of or in connection with this information or your use of it.
All information you are about to obtain is subject to change at any time by Iowa DOT without prior notice to you. You are not permitted to represent to any third party that you are in any way affiliated with, associated with, or acting on behalf of the Iowa DOT. The Iowa DOT reserves the right to assert any and all claims of confidentiality available to it under state or federal law, including, but not limited to, Iowa Code chapter 22, and does not waive any claims of confidentiality it may be entitled to assert under state or federal law as to the information in its possession.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the State of Iowa (including the Iowa DOT) its officials, employees, and agents from any loss, damage, liability, claim, demand, or cost (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) of any kind made or incurred by any third party due to, arising out of, or relating in any way to: (i) your use of any of the information you have obtained, (ii) any third party’s use of any of the information you have obtained, (ii) your dissemination of any of the information you have obtained, (iii) any representations or warranties you have made to any third party relating in any way to any of the information you have obtained, or (iii) your negligence or misconduct in any matter relating to the information you have obtained.

Trademarks and service marks
The Contents of the Site, including its “look and feel” (e.g., text, graphics, images, logos, buttons), editorial content, notices, software (including HTML-based computer programs), and other Content are copyrighted and all rights are reserved.
