Friday, March 23 at midnight through Monday, March 26 at 8 a.m., EST - The Iowa DOT will not be able to process your request for an identification card or driver’s license if a SAVE case is required for issuance. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is performing system enhancements to their verification of lawful status program, SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements Program), and the ability to verify lawful status will be limited or unavailable during this timeframe.
Our intent is not to inconvenience or turn anyone away, so we encourage temporary and permanent residents to renew or apply for an Iowa credential outside of this timeframe. We regret any inconvenience this may cause for you and look forward to assisting you once SAVE operations resume.
